The Deputy Director of Complex Care – Strategic Commissioning plays a crucial role in developing the health and care market across North Central London (NCL) on behalf of the Integrated Care Board (ICB). This position involves collaborating with system partners to influence care provision and develop creative commissioning solutions that are high quality and cost-effective.

Main Duties

  • Lead the development of commissioning strategies to improve value for money.
  • Strategic lead for market development within the care sector.
  • Oversee the brokerage function for commissioning health care for complex adults.
  • Enhance quality assurance approaches across the directorate.
  • Lead the enhanced care in care homes agenda.
  • Develop and implement IFR & PHB systems across NCL.
  • Deputise for the Director of Complex Care by leading key workstreams.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

  • Essential: Educated to master’s level or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable: Financial background and clinical qualification.

Experience

  • Essential: Extensive experience in leading strategic development of complex care commissioning and working with the care market.
  • Required: Good understanding of Continuing Healthcare National Framework.
  • Desirable: Significant experience at 8C level or higher.

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to manage sensitive issues and negotiations effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
  • Capability to analyze complex data sets and draw conclusions.
