As a Scrub Nurse at Kinvara Private Hospital, you will join a multi-disciplinary theatre team, ensuring high standards of nursing care and patient safety in a theatre unit. Your role includes contributing to a conducive environment for delivering top-notch patient care while adhering to professional and national standards.
Main Duties
- Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate peri-operative patient care.
- Prepare patients for clinical/operative procedures.
- Assist in clinical/operative procedures.
- Provide initial emergency care as required.
- Work collaboratively with the theatre team, following local protocols and standards.
- Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
- Assemble, check, and prepare surgical instruments and consumables.
- Coordinate the use of supplies and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Monitor and check stock items, including consumables and drugs.
- Promote a safe and hygienic environment to prevent infection.
- Document any accidents or complaints and inform the appropriate manager.
- Participate in staff education, training, and development.
- Contribute to practice and policy changes based on audits or new guidance.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

Facilities include 16 inpatient beds, disabled-friendly rooms, 2 laminar flow operating theatres, and 3 consultation rooms. We specialize in orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery, and women’s health, and are currently seeking bank theatre scrub nurses who can also work in recovery.

Person Specification
Experience
- Essential: Experience in gynaecology, orthopaedics, general surgery, and plastics.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a private hospital.
Qualifications
- Essential: BSC Hons Adult Nursing and a minimum of 3 years experience as a scrub nurse.
- Desirable: Phlebotomy, ILS, and Cannulation qualifications.
