We are looking for a motivated and innovative future leader to join our rapidly expanding Acute Medical Unit (AMU). A new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit has been implemented, and we need a dynamic consultant to enhance our enthusiastic team. We offer a generous Welcome Payment and relocation expenses.
Unit Overview
The AMU is a purpose-built 19-bedded unit serving a population of 250,000. It includes an assessment area designated for SDEC patients and acutely unwell patients. The department is known for its forward-thinking approach, recently recognized with an HSJ Patient Safety Award for our Urgent and Emergency Care Safety Initiative.
Main Duties of the Job
- Collaborate with the AMU team to enhance management of medical admissions and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Work in your subspecialty area to influence change and service improvement.
- Support the delivery of an effective front door service for patient flow and length of stay.
- Mentor junior medical staff and promote a culture of learning.
- Provide teaching and participate in the on-call medical consultant rota.

What We’re Looking For
- CCT in General Medicine or within 6 months of obtaining.
- Desirable: CCT in Acute Internal Medicine.
- Strong communication skills in English.
