Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd. is looking for a licensed Optician / Contact Lens Practitioner to join the optical department at our Kitchener location. In this role, you will guide members through selecting the right eyewear and contact lenses while delivering the friendly, efficient service Costco is known for.

Your responsibilities

  • Help members choose eyeglass frames, sunglasses and contact lenses that match their prescriptions
  • Measure pupillary distance and corneal curvature to ensure precise, comfortable fittings
  • Use a slit lamp to check ocular health and support proper contact lens fitting
  • Enter orders into the computer system, process payments and manage special orders with outside vendors
  • Guide and supervise apprentices working toward their certification

Your profile

  • Hold a valid provincial license as a Dispensing Optician
  • Certified Contact Lens Fitter (or willing to complete certification within a year of hire)
  • Previous experience as a licensed optician or contact lens fitter is an asset
  • Comfortable using computers and performing basic calculations
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in member service
  • For Quebec locations, fluency in French (spoken and written) is required
