Costco Wholesale is looking for a licensed Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team in Kitchener, Ontario. In this role you will deliver direct patient care, dispense medications safely, and practice to the fullest extent permitted by provincial pharmacy regulations, all while providing the friendly, member-focused service Costco is known for.

Your responsibilities

  • Dispense prescription medications and apply correct auxiliary labels
  • Review prescriptions and over-the-counter products for drug interactions, allergies, dosage and therapeutic appropriateness
  • Verify prescriptions and refills with prescribers, including taking verbal orders and selecting therapeutic substitutions when appropriate
  • Maintain confidential patient medical records and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to resolve drug therapy issues
  • Educate members on proper medication use and answer questions about over-the-counter products

You will also work closely with Registered Pharmacy Technicians to allocate tasks efficiently, lead health and wellness clinics where regulations allow, and may administer injections, conduct medication reviews, and order lab tests within the scope of your provincial license. When the Pharmacy Manager is unavailable, you will step in as Pharmacist-In-Charge, overseeing daily dispensary operations and supervising pharmacy interns and students. Ongoing continuing education and maintaining required certifications are part of staying current in this role.

Your profile

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Current pharmacist license in good standing for the province of employment
  • Strong computer, math, patient care and customer service skills
  • No prior work experience required
  • French language proficiency required for Quebec locations
