The role involves assisting the clinical team in delivering safe care to the Practice population under indirect supervision. The individual will undertake delegated tasks, collaborate with practice team members, and follow practice policies while maintaining a flexible working approach.
Main Duties of the Job
- Support health promotion programmes with the practice nurse
- Conduct baseline observations: pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate
- Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring
- Perform wound care and dressings
- Assist in managing chronic disease clinics
- Conduct BMI checks
- Act as a chaperone
- Perform venepuncture and administer flu vaccinations when trained
- Carry out ECGs and ensure specimen preparation for transportation
- Support during minor operations
- Maintain clinical room stocks and conduct regular clinical checks
- Ensure proper cleaning and waste disposal as per IPC policy
About Us
The practice serves over 16,500 patients from an urban and suburban population. Located in a newly built facility with a car park, it plans to merge with another practice in April 2025.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Essential: Healthcare qualification (level 3 or 4) or working towards
- Desirable: Phlebotomy certification, ear syringing certification
Experience
- Essential: Experience in a Primary Care environment
- Desirable: Public and healthcare setting experience
Clinical Knowledge and Skills
- Desirable Skills: Wound care, ECGs, venepuncture, new patient medicals, accurate clinical note recording
Other Requirements
- Essential: Flexibility in working hours, DBS check, and Occupational Health clearance
