Costco is looking for a Meat Assistant to join the busy meat department at our Kitchener warehouse. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering quality products to members.

Your responsibilities

  • Wrap and label meat products using the wrapping machine, setting labels correctly by product type and price
  • Restock display cases by transferring wrapped meat from carts through sliding windows or moving racks
  • Operate the meat grinder, checking fat content of each batch to meet quality standards
  • Inspect and reassemble equipment sanitized overnight, and rework display cases to rotate stock
  • Clean and sanitize the work area throughout the shift, following health code and temperature guidelines

Your profile

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Food Safety Certification Level 1 required on the first day in the role
  • Previous meat wrapping experience is an asset and will be given preference
  • Comfortable performing routine maintenance on department machinery and equipment
  • Friendly and prompt approach to serving members
