About the Role

Dollarama is looking for a Senior Analyst, Accounting to join its finance team in Mont-Royal. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, you will play a central role in the monthly financial close process while also helping to streamline how the company tracks and manages non-current assets. This is an opportunity to combine strong technical accounting skills with process improvement across a fast-moving organization.

Your responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and support the completion of financial close activities
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure account balances are accurate and complete
  • Analyze monthly variances and share insights on financial performance
  • Lead the review of accounting treatment for IFRS 16 leases and prepare related reconciliations
  • Contribute to the annual budget process by analyzing profit and loss accounts and validating data with other departments

Your profile

You hold a CPA designation and bring at least three years of relevant accounting experience. You are highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with large data sets to perform detailed financial analysis. Experience with large ERP systems is required, and familiarity with SAP is considered a strong asset. A background in audit is a plus, along with a solid understanding of IFRS standards, particularly IAS 16 for property, plant and equipment and IFRS 16 for leases. You are organized, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting, and skilled at building strong working relationships across teams. Fluent written and verbal communication in both English and French is required, as you will collaborate with colleagues across Canada.
