University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to take on a senior leadership role within its Voice and Upper Airway service. This position combines clinical excellence with strategic oversight, guiding a specialist team that supports adults with voice, upper airway and swallowing conditions across both hospital and community settings.
Your responsibilities
- Lead and deliver specialist SLT care for adults with voice, upper airway and swallowing disorders across acute and community sites
- Design and implement joined-up care pathways that ensure smooth patient journeys from referral through to discharge
- Carry out advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning for complex voice and dysphagia cases
- Work alongside ENT specialists and multidisciplinary colleagues within joint voice and swallowing clinics
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and training to SLT staff, while supporting service audits and quality improvement projects
Your profile
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
- Completed dysphagia competencies and postgraduate training in voice disorders
- Advanced clinical expertise in assessing and managing voice and swallowing disorders in adults
- Solid experience working within multidisciplinary teams and community-based care settings
- Background in supervising or training junior therapists and students
- Strong understanding of clinical governance and experience contributing to service development or research
- Valid UK driving licence (international licences not accepted)
